Your data & limits

What the app reads, what it keeps, and where its advice stops.

Signing in

You sign in with your Garage61 account, on Garage61's own page. You allow My Coach to read your driving data, and Garage61 gives the app a key for just that. My Coach never sees your Garage61 password, and you can take the access back at any time in your Garage61 account.

What it reads

Your Garage61 laps:
lap list, lap times, fuel and telemetry. The app only reads; it never changes anything on Garage61.
Files you add:
the other driver's laps and your setup exports. They're read by the app and not sent anywhere else.

What it keeps

Stored in the app's database, under your Garage61 account, and only ever shown to you:

Downloaded telemetry:
compressed, so each lap is downloaded once. Lap telemetry never changes.
Coaching sessions and setup runs:
so History can open them again, including the setup exports you uploaded.
Your 馃憤 / 馃憥 votes:
on tips and setup steps, with their reasons.
Your Garage61 access:
encrypted, so the app can keep reading your laps without you signing in every time.
Which days you used it:
to count active drivers. Usage is only ever looked at added up across everyone.

Page visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. The site may show ads from Google; the privacy policy has the details, and how to have your data deleted.

What it can't tell

One lap at a time:
a tip compares one lap with one other. Traffic, tyre wear, fuel load and track conditions all move lap times, so treat a single comparison as a lead, not a verdict. The downforce section uses your whole session for that reason.
Why you did something:
the telemetry shows that you braked earlier, not whether you were defending, saving tyres or avoiding a car. Rate a tip 馃憥 "not what happened" when it gets it wrong.
Balance is relative:
the setup wizard finds where the car is looser or pushier than elsewhere on the lap. A car that's equally loose everywhere looks balanced: that's what the "how does it feel" questions are for, and your answer wins.
Car-specific details:
the setup export doesn't say how big one click is or which way every dial goes on every car. When the car's notes don't say, the step describes the effect ("1 setting lower", "check which way on this car").
Live data:
the app works from recorded laps. It doesn't see your car during a session, so plan fuel before the race.
Setups are starting points:
change a few things, drive a few laps and check the change. Real setup work is a loop.

Questions

Does it use AI to write the tips?:
No. The tips come from fixed rules and templates over measured numbers, so every number in a tip is from your telemetry.
Can I coach against my own laps?:
Yes. Add a file of your own laps: the tips then compare your fastest lap with your other one.
Which cars and tracks?:
Any iRacing car and track Garage61 has your laps for. Corner names are known for 48 layouts; others are numbered.
Where's my history?:
Under History: coaching sessions, setup runs and what your votes say.
