My Coach

An iRacing coach that reads your lap telemetry from Garage61 and tells you, in plain English, where you lose time, what to change on the car, and how much fuel you need. Every number it gives comes from your own laps.

What you need

  • A Garage61 account with laps on it. Garage61 records your iRacing telemetry as you drive; My Coach reads it from there. Coaching and the setup wizard use the last 30 days of car and track combinations; the fuel calculator uses this season.
  • For coaching: a faster driver's laps at the same car and track, as a file: a Garage61 telemetry export (CSV) or a laps file (JSON). Your own older laps work too.
  • For the setup wizard: the setup you drove with, exported from the iRacing garage as a setup sheet (.htm).

A typical race week

  1. Practise, then get coached

Drive a few clean laps. Open the car and track on the dashboard, add a faster driver's laps and press Coach me. Work on the top tip or two next time out.
  2. Fix the car

When the car fights you, run the setup wizard on your best lap with the setup you used. Tell it how the car feels, try the 1–3 changes it suggests, and drive a few laps.
  3. Check the change

Press Check a change and run the wizard on a lap with the new setup. It shows the lap time and the handling before and after, and what you changed. Rate the steps 👍 or 👎 so it learns what works for you.
  4. Plan the race

In the fuel calculator, enter the race length. It plans the start fuel and pit stops from the fuel you actually use per lap.
